A poor performance from England but they escape with a draw

England left Warsaw with a point from their World Cup qualifying match but truth be told, it could have gone either way after a poor performance from the Three Lions. England rode their luck on many occasions, particularly in the first half but was fortunate to be one up at the break as Wayne Rooney continued his goal scoring exploits for the English. His goal came against the run of play and was a got a fortunate bounce of his shoulder following a Steven Gerrard corner. England held on to this lead until the 70th minute when Polish defender Kamil Glik powered home Ludovic Obraniak’s corner. Although the defending on the set-piece left a lot to be desired, it would probably go down as a goalkeeping error as Joe Hart came for the ball but was completely beaten to it by Glik.
This match, which was postponed after being called off last night ...
