Are City set to offer €38m for van Persie?

A report coming out of Italy has stated that City are prepared to offload Tevez to Milan and offer Arsenal €38m (£30m) for van Persie.  City have form in offering large sums for players with only one year left on their deal, after all, they paid £24m for Nasri who is a player with considerably less experience than van Persie only 12 months ago.
While Arsenal wish to hold on to their captain and have him see out the final year of his deal an offer of this size might be too hard to resist.  As I don’t speak Italian I was having to rely on the services of Google translate and we know how that tends to go.  The quote in the original Italian cites a ‘source close to City’ as saying “you will know more in the coming days” before adding that City’s priority is to “sell Tevez” although should that deal not proceed the source seems to believe that...
