Arsenal cut their price tag by £7m to ensure defender left before deadline day

West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis says he was pleased that Arsenal cut their asking price to £5m for left back Kieran Gibbs before the close of the transfer window.
According to the Baggies boss, the Gunners had initially been demanding £12million for the 27 year old, but as deadline day approached, the price tag was lowered with Arsenal fearing they would lose out on a transfer fee with Gibbs’s contract expiring next summer. Pulis was quoted by the Daily Star as saying:
“The £12m Arsenal were talking about at the beginning of the season was too expensive. To get him for £5m over a period of time now is a good deal for us.&#...
