Arsenal get rid of ‘burden’ Alex Song as midfielder completes Barca move

Alex Song has completed his move to Barcelona as Arsenal confirmed the Cameroon International’s departure on their official website. The 24 year old underwent a medical at the Camp Nou today before rubber-stamping the £15m transfer. The move might represent yet another low point for the Gunners in recent years, but the Mirror claims that the departure was not a tearful one for Arsenal and in fact Arsene Wenger was happy to rid himself of the unprofessional midfielder.
An academy graduate of French club Bastia, Song joined Arsenal in 2006.
