Arsenal Had Mustafi's Replacement Lined Up...But He Went To Juventus

Arsenal targeted centre-back Benedict Howedes to replace Shkodran Mustafi at the club but the Schalke man instead elected to join Juventus (via The Metro).
It was a surprising story when it emerged that Arsenal were looking to sell Shkodran Mustafi just twelve months after signing him.
Mustafi was one of the most expensive defenders of all time when he made the move to the Emirates last season but was seemingly close to an exit just twelve months later.
Inter Milan were the club most interested in the German World Cup winner but no deal could be reached. Now, we may well have found out why.
