Arsenal: Lemar closing on Gunners

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been chasing the 21-year-old all summer and is said to have agreed personal terms some time ago, but now it looks like a breakthrough has been made over the fee.

Monaco are reported to have knocked back two bids of over £30million, but have accepted £45million, and the French international is now set to complete a move to the Emirates Stadium by the end of the week.

Wenger has already drafted in Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette this summer and Lemar looks set to be the third piece in the jigsaw as he attempts to build a side capable of challenging for the title.

However, Lemar will not be joined by Monaco team-mate Kylian Mbappe, after the Gunners were priced out of a move for the striker, who looks to be heading to Real Madrid.
