Arsenal are believed to have bid £6.5 million for France international striker Olivier Giroud, according to Mirror Football.
The forward hit 21 goals in 36 games for Montpellier this season to unexpectedly lead them to the Ligue 1 title, and will represent his country at Euro 2012.
Giroud has captured the attention of Arsene Wenger, who hopes to lure the attacker to the Emirates this summer to take the goal-scoring burden away from captain Robin van Persie.
Newcastle and Liverpool are also thought to be monitoring Giroud, who has a £12.8 million buyout clause in his contract.
