Arsenal Maintain A Stranglehold On The Third Spot As They Trash Wolves

Arsenal established a 5 point lead over fourth placed Spurs after easing to their ninth win in ten games with a 3-0 win over a hapless Wolves side. The game was essentially over after 11 minutes. Things started going downhill for Wolves after Bassong was sent off in the seventh minute for a professional foul on Walcott. Robin Van Persie calmly slotted home from the resultant penalty with a cheeky dink thus ending his barren run of four games without a goal (his worst streak this season).
The finish was of sublime quality and this is what Wenger had to say about it, “Van Persie’s penalty? I have never seen him take it like that.
