Arsenal making a last minute attempt to beat Liverpool to midfielder

Arsenal have asked Nuri Sahin to delay his decision of joining Liverpool, who was supposed to join the Anfield club on a season-long loan yesterday.
The 23-year-old joined Real Madrid on a six-year-contract last summer from Borussia Dortmund but has failed to establish himself at Bernabeu.
He could only manage four appearances in all competitions last season and manager Jose Mourinho wants him to spend some game time on loan.
Arsenal were heavily interested in signing him over phone and manager Arsene Wenger had personally requested the Turkish international to join Emirates this summer.
Liverpool on the other hand were equally eager to capture his signature and tried to lure the midfield...
