Current Russian captain Andrey Arshavin has put his foot in it by hitting out at his sides supporters, claiming that their disappointment at the country’s elimination Euro 2012 is not the players fault.
The Russian faithful got themselves in a bit of strife with their rebellious antics during their countries Euro 2012 campaign, that came to an early end after loosing to the Greeks on Sunday, and their captain and talisman Arshavin was his usual outspoken and often verbally eccentric self by claiming the knockout was not the players fault.
Arshavin was cited as saying by Russian site Gazeta.ru:
The fact that we have not met your expectations is not our problem.
It’s your problem. When I’m sitting in [Federal House] State Duma, I’ll be held accountable before you.
