Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has had a night to forget in Poland’s opening game of Euro 2012 as the co-hosts were held to a 1-1 draw by Greece.
The game turned out to be an entertaining match, which included 2 red cards and a penalty, which ended up being saved.
Poland took an early lead through striker Lewandowski whose drive header gave the hosts the lead on the 16th minute of the match.
Szczesny had little to do in the opening half, but made a costly mistake when he was finally called into action early in the second when he failed to gather a cross, which in the end fell to Greek striker Salpingidis who took the chance with ease.
