Arsenal News: Van Persie receives media ban

The Gunners have placed a ban on their talisman Robin van Persie during the Euro 2012 championships to prevent him speaking to the media as they look to secure their captain with a new contract this summer.
Arsene Wenger had made it clear that he would have the contract situation sorted before RVP left for the Poland and Ukraine, but lo and behold he departed on Thursday to link up with the Dutch team as they prepare to take down Europe’s best. Now Arsenal have taken action to prevent further unsettling reports and unneccesary pressure on Van Persie by preventing him from speaking to journalists during the summer competition.
A Netherlands spokesman has since confirmed the ban:
We made a deal with Arsenal and he won’t talk to the press.
