Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that star young midfielder Jack Wilshere will not return this season and will not be eligible for both the Euro 2012 tournament and the Olympic Games.
The young Englishman was only expected to be out for five or so months after undergoing surgery for a stress fracture in his ankle, but unfortunately suffered another stress fracture at the beginning of February which severely hampered his recovery progress.
It is very unfortunate that we will not see Wilshere make any return, particularly after it was confirmed that fellow team-mate Mikel Arteta suffered a serious ankle injury in Arsenal’s recent shock loss to Wigan Athletic.
