All too familiar - Villa 2-2 Arsenal

Dah well, just another occassion where Arsenal have fallen apart in the dying embers of a football match. It's yet another occassion where quite frankly we were lucky to get anything out the game. We were dominated first half, Villa smacked the bar 4 times and had many, many other chances too, our defending today was inexcusable. Make no mistake about it, Denilson's goal was against the run of play. Diaby, our one shining light performed well and penetrated the Villa defence a few times with some excellent runs through the midfield, Gerrard-esk. and scoring a brilliant goal after combining well with Eboue, who had a good game it must be said. We were sublime for the most of the second half, our passing looked fluid, Villa couldn't live with us and we looked ready to put the boot into Villa when we could've killed the game 3-0, Van Persie hitting the post. So much like Spurs at home, Villa got back into the game out of nothing. Gallas the culprit taking down Agbonlahor in the box following a long ball from Milner. Barry smashing the ball home from the resulting spot kick. Yet another case where we couldn't deal with a long ball, Djourou was caught wrong side last time, Gallas this. Don't have a clue what Wenger was complaining about - clear penalty. The board went up displaying 4 minutes of injury time to be played. Here we go I said, I knew we'd get nervous, and I knew Villa would get a chance, question was would they take it. They did, Aston Villa's dark knight - Zat knight, had the ball presented to him quite fortuitously from Barry's miss control, but the defender made no mistake, he finished like a striker low and hard with the left foot past the watching Almunia - who had no chance. All too familiar, nothing new - roll on Pompey. Arsenal need a spine, and fast, if they're to finish 4th this season.
