Going into the most crucial phase of our season it is vitally important our players are positive, switched on and ready to win our remaining fixtures. Not the case it seems with Arsenal's little Russian, who has come out and talked quite a bit of nonsense and down playing his team's chances of silverware on a consistent basis. I know he's an honest individual and says what he feels, but surely there is a time and place. He talks a bit too much for me, and he's always got something negative to say. "I am still of the opinion that to win trophies Arsenal needs more players."There is the simple fact that last summer we sold two players and bought only one. So there is an obvious deficit of at least one. Then we lost Van Persie, Gibbs and Ramsey for a long time. So for me it is natural we need new players."Without the variety of players we have less diversity in attack. That allows our opponents to read our combinations more easily. Finally, it results in less ball possession for us and our defence comes under more pressure."The Premier League is very interesting, at least as long as we continue fighting to win it. But without new experienced players, real stars, it will be difficult to achieve success."Ideally we need three or four such experienced players and then among our youths there should be guys who are not only good at playing football but have real character."The papers have made out he is referring to this season, so in that sense I believe his comments have been taken out of context. However even if he is talking about next season and seasons ahead, now is certainly not the right time to be doing so. Saying things like 'We lost Ade and Toure and bought only one player and that isn't enough' is pretty stupid stuff coming from an intelligent individual. We're in a far better position in the league this season than we were last at this stage, proving we are much stronger. Yes we got blasted by United and Chelsea, and you better believe Wenger will address that in the summer, but for now we need our players to be focused, especially our best ones because we have an outstanding chance this year.
