Former Arsenal stand in captain Gilberto has been speaking about his old club's form this season. The Brazilian is in london following the Brazil 2-1 Italy friendly win at the Emirates and thinks his former employers are in desperate need of experience."When I was at Arsenal we had a lot of experience in the squad - myself, Patrick Vieira, Robert Pires," he said."We had important players who did a great job for Arsenal. But suddenly things changed. Young players came in and some left."What matters now is that the experienced players stand up for the club and make everyone work together."They are out of the Champions League places - but I'm sure they will pick up points and get back."It's so hard to see Arsenal in the position they are at the moment. I hope they can change their situation."I've spoken to some of the players and of course they are disappointed."I don't know if they are missing a player like me but the young players need a lot of support from the experienced players to get them through."The team is also very young. They need time. But when you are in a big club you don't have much time." I disagree slightly with Gilberto. I believe we are in need of quality in some area's not necessarily experience. I look at the middle of the park and I see Alex Song as our main holding midfielder. Potentially a great player but lacks the drive and determination Diarra or Palacios have, two unbelievable diamonds of midfielders who Arsene has let go of for peanuts. It really is literally like swapping diamonds for peanuts. If we had one of those battling in the middle we'd be a more potent threat to teams no doubt. Our back four are constantly exposed, there's no real protection from the midfield.
