Marouane Chamakh has re-iterated his desire to move to Arsenal ahead of today's opening fixture in Ligue 1 where his side Bordeaux trounced Lens 4-1. Chamakh got on the score sheet in injury time with a cool finish, played his part in the second goal and furthermore set up the fourth with a delightful back-heel. He showed good ball retention skills whenever in possession, hardly giving the ball away and will no doubt prove a big asset in a better side. He told reporters:"My priority is Arsenal, but there are other clubs. If it's Arsenal, so much the better,"I am not sleeping as well as I normally do. I made my wishes known to the directors at the end of last season. I expressed a wish to join another league."I hope things will be sorted out, and that they will be sorted out very quickly. As much for Bordeaux's sake as for mine, my situation has to be clarified, I thought my club would have made things easier for me."Bordeaux are said to be mulling over a slightly improved offer of £7m for Chamakh, and this week could prove pivotal in determining where the Moroccan plays his trade next season.
