Kolo & Eboue gone? / 3 strikers linked / Cattermole

A fast news day indeed I hear you say. The Sunday Times seem to think Kolo Toure has agreed personal terms with Man City, with other reports suggesting Emmanuel Eboue has done the same with Florentina. I have to admit to being split on Toure leaving. The heart cries no but the mind says "on yer bike". As well as he has performed in the 2nd half of the season, both his and Gallas's mistakes at the top end of last season were heavily to blame for a string of poor results, a risk in my view which can't be taken again. Man City will no doubt offer good money. The best thing for Toure's Ivory coast partner in crime Emmanuel Eboue would be to leave. The lad can start fresh and play without fear of being booed for once. People cite our lack of right back insurance but I believe Gavin Hoyte has to be given a chance at some time and it could be this season. Other reports have linked us to a barrage of striking talents, no surprise as Ade I'll-Miss-Sitters-For-You-All-Day Bayor has left. I do feel sorry for the lad though. For people to say he left just for the money is quite laughable. Arsenal sold him before he even knew about it, City were the only one who came in for him and he even tried to engineer moves to Man Utd and Chelsea in order to play in the Champions League. So lets clarify, Arsenal didnt want him, and neither did anyone else apart from City, what is he supposed to do? Knock back £150k a week from a club who actually wants him when no-one else doesn't? Adebayor never wanted to leave this summer - that's a fact. It's time everyone forgave and forgot, wish him all the best and move on. Right! The strikers in question then, Kalou, Huntelaar and Vucinic have all prominently appeared in todays papers and it's not inconcievable to believe Wenger has an eye on all three. A known admirer of Kalou, who Wenger admitted to enquiring about last year. The lad has pace, drive, commitment though he lacks a cutting edge in the final third, something Wenger could help polish up if a move was to materialise. Can't see it happening myself. With Crouch heading to spurs it surely puts them out of the race for the Dutchman, who's finishing qualities could be worth splashing the quoted £16m out on. Time and time again we saw move after move result in nobody in the box. People will say Eduardo's fit and will be our fox in the box - and I agree, but I still think we need to be careful with him as he has been knocked back since with a few niggling injuries. Huntelaar thrives on being on the end of crosses and would also give us a genuine threat in the air. Bendtner does give us that too but again, we need something different as insurance to ensure we are not presented with a repeat of last year - just my view. Mirko Vucinic is our final contestant on 3 strikers linked today - and he would cost in the region of £17m, say the Daily Star. Now i've saved the best for last here. This kid is a gem. Quick feet, speedy, can finish, good in the air, agile, out of every striker available on the market today he has the whole package - say no more. Now then, Lee Cattermole's name has been branded about by the Sunday Express as a shock target for Arsenal as our search for mr mean in midfield continues. Again, I believe there is no smoke without fire and have always rated Mr Cattermole. I don't agree with some people's perception of him as a thug - he's not a Joey Barton, or even Steven Gerrard in my view. The latter two play with MALICE and the intention of screwing someone over. Cattermole just plays with heart and desire and if he is provoked he will stick up for himself and his team mates like Vieira or Keane did. There's a big difference. He's got drive, determination to run through any midfield infront of him, and a good eye for goal. He has everything we lack in the midfield. Why not is all I'm saying, the answer is probably the price. At £10m I can't see it happening, but he is a talent in my view and would be an asset to our squad no doubt. Till the next episode gooners, stay positive.Source Insurance, Quality Insurance, Reliability Insurance, Frequency Insurance, Interactivity Insurance, Info Insurance
