Wenger - I am not signing Victor Moses or Carlton Cole, but Campbell……

The normally tight-lipped Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has yet again been giving his opinions of the latest Arsenal rumours, and he has destroyed my two favourite rumours, namely Carlton Cole and Victor Moses.
Carlton Cole is a top class Englishman that could play in the Champions League, and the young Palace striker Victor Moses has the [...]

Every summer I pick a 22 called 'Superunknowns', featuring promising, under-rated or simply underperforming players on the rebound. Recent 'SuperUs' who have later signed for my beloved Gunners include Adebayor, RVP, Vela, Baptista (sorry), Flamini, Lauren, Denilson & Nasri. Essien, Cech, de Jong, Garay & Sneijder also featured as teenagers!

It seems however that Moses will not be my latest prodigy to make the Emirates grade.

For anyone not au fait with Moses, he is over 6', strong, fast, left-sided, technically on the Arshavin level and is a goal threat from long & short range. He is the planetary no.1 candidate to be the new Thierry Henry! He will be a big miss! Not only will we lose him, he will come back to haunt us!

It's interesting because it looks like, what with Crystal Palace going into administration yesterday that the administrators may be looking to offload talent such as Moses for the best price they can get.

I know Wenger doesn't like to over-pay in the transfer market; but if he's swift then he could probably get a good deal on Moses.

However, I'm not completely sure if Wenger would be wise to purchase another maturing prospect at this point, god knows we have enough of them not yet making the grade, especially in the forward positions.

I've wanted us to get Chamakh for what feels like forever, and who, at 26 is in the form of his career for Les Girondins de Bordeaux. However his is another case of Wenger showing interest in a player only for his price to be jacked up by interest from other Premiership managers. He is the real finished package though.
