Italian international Ricardo Montolivo attracted the interest of several Premier League clubs including Arsenal. It seems that future of the talented midfielder is finally decided, after Montolivo agreed pre – contract deal with AC Milan thus ending Arsenal’s dreams of landing him.
Montolivo was on the radar of Arsene Wenger for some time, but a few other clubs were also in the race to sign him. Montolivo’s contract with Fiorentina expires this summer, and he will join AC Milan on the free transfer, after signing a four-year deal worth around £2m a season. This transfer starts some doubts regarding the future of Liverpool’s on-loan midfielder Alberto Aquilani, who was expected to sign permanent deal with the Italian champions.
