Arsenal are preparing a summer bid for Lorient attacking midfielder Alain Traore, according to French source Le10Sport.
The 25-year-old is facing a spell on the sidelines after picking up an injury in the ongoing African Nations Cup, which discouraged the Gunners from making a deadline day move for the Burkina Faso international.
Traore has been on dazzling form for the Lorient this season, bagging six goals in 13 appearances for the over-achieving Ligue 1 outfit.
The former Auxerre man has spent most of this term playing in the ‘hole’ behind a central striker but Traore can also operate up-front.
It is understood that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has asked his scouting team to continue to monitor the forward and the Frenchman may return with a bid this summer.
