Arsenal Rumours: Arteta out for the season

According to reports, Mikel Arteta will sit out of the rest of the season as a result of ankle ligament damage suffered in the early stages of the 2-1 loss to Wigan earlier this week.



The Spaniard who has been a first team regular since his summer arrival from Everton appeared to roll his ankle when attempting to cross the ball and early scans show that there is no break however there is ligament damage meaning the midfielder will be sidelined for Arsenal’s remaining 4 matches.
Wenger told Arsenal.com the condition of his box-to-box midfielder after the Wigan match:
He had to come off. It’s an ankle problem. It looks quite a serious one.
