Arsenal Target Elia To Leave Juventus

Arsenal target Eljero Elia has handed in a transfer request at Serie A side Juventus. The 25-year-old winger has made just 4 appearances in the league for the Bianconeri and a further appearance in the Coppa Italia cup competition. Just five appearances in a whole season is clearly not acceptable for someone of Elia’s age and ability and today Juventus accepted a transfer request from the want-away winger. The lack of playing time at the Italian club led to Elia being omitted from the Dutch Euro 2012 squad, something which has likely increased the wingers desire to move on as soon as possible.
