Arsenal were given a rude shock as they slumped to a 2-1 defeat at home to a resurgent Wigan, yesterday.
Things began on a very positive not for the Gunners with Wigan barely seeing the ball in the first 5 minutes. Yossi Benayoun tested the opposition goalkeeper with the first shot in the 6th minute. But this short period of dominance was not meant to be as Wigan scored in the 7th minute after an Arsenal corner. Franco Di Santo getting the better of Szczesny on this occasion.
Things got even worse as Wigan scored again a mere few seconds later with Moses finely beating Sagna and then crossing in for Di Santo to score again. Arsenal lost Arteta to injury and had to bring on Ramsey for him in the aftermath of the goal.
Despite their two goal lead, Arsenal never gave up. Benayoun came close to scoring again in the 16th minute and it too...
