Premier League rivals Arsenal and Chelsea look set to battle it out for the signature for Schalke’s star winger Jefferson Farfan, who will be out of contract in the summer.
The 27-year old is highly unlikely to renew his contract at the German club, as Schalke is unable to meet the winger’s wage demands. He will hence be a free agent and will be free to negotiate with other clubs.
There has been reported interest in the former PSV Eindhoven attacker, with Juventus and Inter Milan closely monitoring the situation. But Farfan’s native, Peru’s local newspaper Trome claim that English sides Arsenal and Chelsea are leading the chase to land him.
