After the disappointment of the weekend, the Gunners hosted Greek giants Olympiakos at the Emirates in the day 2 of the UEFA Champions League. Oh! What a laborious work they made of the seemingly light work.
Of Arsenal’s three group opponents, the Greek team were adjudged the easiest opposition, one that the Gunners shouldn’t break sweat to beat especially at the Emirates.
Olympiakos came with a defensive set up, allowing Arsenal to enjoy huge possession while they stood resolutely at the back. We didn’t make the most of the possession we enjoyed as Arsenal mustered only one shot on goal in the entirety of the first half and that was the one that gave Arsenal the lead on 42 minutes. Can we call that efficiency?
