Arsene Wenger wanted to sell Van Persie abroad

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted that he would have preferred to have sold Robin van Persie to a foreign club.
The Netherlands international made his desire to leave the north London club clear earlier this summer, and has moved to Manchester United for a reported £24 million fee.
The French coach has confessed that the transfer is not ideal and he would have preferred to see Van Persie leave the Premier League.
