Arsenal are monitoring Manchester United attacker Anthony Martial, with a future transfer to the Emirates Stadium possibly on the cards, according to reports.

The news is according to the Gambling Times which claimed the Gunners have been asked to keep informed about the France international situation at Old Trafford.

Martial has been in sensational form so far this season for United, scoring five goals across eight matches, including a penalty in the Red Devils’ Wednesday 4-1 mauling of CSKA Moscow. After a strong first season under former boss Louis Van Gaal in 2015/16, Martial has not been first choice for Jose Mourinho and most of his appearances in the last season and a half have been from the subs bench.

He joined Man United in a £36m deal from Monaco in 2015, but with Romelu Lukaku at his peak and scoring for fun in a central role, most of Martial’s goals this season have again been after coming off the bench.

Martial, who turns 22 in December has reportedly grown frustrated of his limited starting opportunities and has been forced to play out wide in recent times, despite netting 17 times playing down the middle in his first season at Old Trafford.

The attacker has been forced to compete for that wide position with Marcus Rashford, who has been in brilliant form since Mourinho took over the reins of the club last summer and is another player who has looked very good so this campaign and left Martial to settle for second choice.

Martial joining Arsenal could apparently be part of some sort of deal which might see both Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil move the other way, as the duo contracts run out next summer and both are increasingly likely to leave Arsenal.

A Martial move to our side would also see him link up with his French international teammate, Alexandre Lacazette, who has made a good start to his Arsenal career following a €46m move from Lyon in the summer.
