The Israeli International spent the last season on loan at Chelsea’s London rivals, Arsenal and had a positive season there. Now that the loan deal has expired, Benayoun looks to impress current Chelsea boss, di Matteo during the pre-season.
A lot has changed since Benayoun’s temporary move to North London. Chelsea replaced their Portuguese manager, Andre Villas-Boas with di Matteo and tasted Champions League and FA Cup success under him.
Benayoun said that he enjoyed his time at the Emirates stadium, where he made 25 appearances in all, scoring 6 goals in the process and helped the club to a third place finish in the Premier League.
