Chamberlain and Arteta Set For New Deals

Arsenal could look to hand new contracts to two of their top performing players of the past season. Young England star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who impressed fans and media alike with his outstanding performances in an Arsenal shirt in the past 12 months, which eventually led to him receiving a call up to the England Euro 2012 squad. Arteta meanwhile, who moved from Everton for £10 million on deadline last summer, is also set to receive a new contract. Chamberlain’s new contract is expected to extend his stay with the club until 2017 whilst also raising his wages to a poor suitable level for a first team squad member, the club feel his performances warrant this wage rise while also they want to extend his contract to head off any potential interested clubs.
