Chaos at the Arsenal. The dramatic and bizarre story of February 1927.

This episode of our series on “Henry Norris at the Arsenal” is by far the longest, and the most contentious and complex piece in our tale.  I hope have made the story clear, but if you are prone to take the occasional glass of fine wine and it is a suitable time of day that you are reading this, that might help get through the convolutions of this month’s events.
We are, as I am sure you will know, approaching the end of our tale.

 
February 1927 opened with Arsenal being in a position in the league that would have looked ok up to 1925, but having had the first Chapman season of 1925/6 in which Arsenal ended up runners’ up, it looked decidedly unimpressive
