So the Giroud rumours were true then, as the French international’s signing was announced yesterday by the Arsenal, the fee a rumoured £12.1m. Word is that Giroud will wear the number 12 shirt, vacated by legendary Gooner Henry in February. I won’t pretend to know anything about Giroud but from what I’ve read we have a powerful target man with pace and a keen eye for goal. It would be easy and pretty lazy to compare Giroud to Chamakh.
