Evangelopoulos confirms Arsenal failed with £34.6m bid

Roma knocked back a £34.6 million offer from Arsenal for Kostas Manolas last summer, according to the centre-back’s agent Ioannis Evangelopoulos.
The Gunners were heavily linked with the Greece international last summer as they looked to bolster their defensive reinforcements, but a move never materialised. Instead, Arsene Wenger brought in Rob Holding from Bolton and also splashed the cash on Shkodran Mustafi’s services.
