Arsenal went up early but could not keep the opposition out of their own net, thanks to an astonishingly awful defensive performance. Things appeared to turn in the Gunners’ favor near the 80-minute mark when Robin van Persie knocked in his second goal of the game to put his side ahead by one, but Norwich refused to stop attacking and equalized only moments later. Arsenal’s defenders simply could not cope with the visitors’ free-role striker play, and consistently failed to mark roaming players — especially on the counterattack.
Reaction: With two games remaining, all Arsenal needed to do was win to get in — but instead, they were lucky to escape with a draw at home against a mid-table side with nothing to play for. Now, the Gunners can only hope that: 1) Tottenham and Newcastle do not win both o...
