European football’s biggest prima donna has officially announced to the world his intentions to sign this summer for Chelsea, ending a protracted transfer saga. With Arsenal most likely never being a serious contender for his signature, many Gunners will likely have long accepted the prospect of seeing the player twice a year in an opposing shirt; now the Gunners will have to cope with the 1-2 punch of Hazard and Juan Mata.
I’ve written numerous times about Hazard’s self-indulgence and greed, so I can’t say I’m too terribly disappointed (though it’s hard to deny that he’s a great talent). Though there may be differing opinions regarding how successful the player will eventually become in the Premier League, I think it’s safe to say his Lebron James-esque behavior since February has worn thin on us all.
