So, Robin Van Persie has decided to not extend his contract. Yes, I am as gutted as you are. After the long transfer saga of Cesc and Nasri, I truly believed Robin would handle the situation differently. I believed he would stay true to his words. I believed he would be convinced of Arsenal’s ambition after the purchases of Podolski and Giroud. I believed there would come a time when us – the fans – and Robin would celebrate a trophy together. I believed he would be a true club legend.
Well, it wasn’t supposed to be. He is not extending his contract. He has a couple of clubs interested in him. And yes, he will leave this summer.
