Finally, the bird has come home to roast. The long drawn cloud over the prospective transfer of French international striker Olivier Giroud has finally cleared off with the confirmation that the lanky striker is set to seal a deal after Les Bleus participation in Euro 2012 climaxes. Wenger took Arsenal fans over a journey of uncertainty, the way he did with the transfer of Podolski, Vermaleen and the others, something I have given the term Wengerlism.
While the rumour still lingers that the French ace is coming to replace the flying Dutchman, Wenger has reiterated that his coming is to compliment our talisman and help him shed some of his huge workload. I sincerely hope it’s more of the latter and none of the former.
