At 26, it is safe to say that Laurent Koscielny is a late bloomer. Three years ago, the Guingamp

academy graduate had just finished a season with Tours FC in Ligue 2 and was preparing for a dream

move to Ligue 1 with FC Lorient.

No one at that stage could possibly have imagined that he would be playing – and indeed producing

a man of the match performance – for his country in a Euros Quarter Final.
