Most Arsenal fans had hope that the Theo Walcott contract saga will not be a long drawn issue and idealy the winger signs a new one and stay with the club for the foreseeable future. Unfortunately that is not the case and there doesn’t seem to be any resolution between the two parties. I don’t know how much of this is about the salary demands the player has but I would assume this issue is the sticking point of the negotiations. Apparently, the player is asking for £100,000 per week while the club is only willing to go as high as £75,000.
There is no doubt that Walcott is talent for the future but I don’t think he is worth that kind of money at the moment. He could be a great footballer when he has completed his tutelage under Arsene Wenger but at the moment he is still not anywhere near the finish product. If he leaves to chase the money, I am ...
