Mertesacker impresses at German camp

Per Mertesacker, who has been out of Arsenal action since February when he underwent ankle surgery, has apparently been impressing at the German’s training camp in Sardinia.
Speaking about the giant defender, German manager Oliver Bierhoff said
“He is incredibly focused, has worked hard and the European Championships have clearly made their impression on him.  Perhaps the only advantage to his injury was that it allowed him to concentrate on getting fit.”
With 79 appearances for Germany under his belt and 21 for Arsenal this season, Metersacker is expected to play a key role in the German’s bid for European glory.  The defender is still not fully fit.
