Montpellier Say Talks Over Giroud Are ‘Going Well’

Montpellier deputy President Laurent Nicollin has confirmed that Arsenal are in talks with the French club about a transfer of striker Olivier Giroud and that talks are ‘going well’. The 25-year-old striker who was Montpellier’s top scorer last season with 25 goals in 43 appearances, has a £12.6 million release clause in his contract which Arsenal have now activated.
“Discussions are happening and going well, as part of the (release) clause set. Things are moving serenely,”
Last week we brought you news that a deal for Giroud could be wrapped up very soon, and these quotes certainly show that the transfer is progressing well. A deal is unlikely to be announced formally until after the Euro’s however due to Giroud’s participation in the tournament....
