As beautiful as the Emirates is – the art deco facade of Arsenal’s old stadium was stylishly eye-catching, and placed it in a class of its own.¬†Arsenal Stadium (its proper name) was built in 1913. In the 1930’s the site was redeveloped and the outstanding Art Deco East and West stands produced.¬†Architects Claude Waterlow Ferrier and William Binnie were responsible for these splendid designs.
It was while looking for design inspiration for Gunners Town’s sister website The Highbury Library that I came across Sussex-based architectural sculptors Chisel & Mouse.
