Press overplay Hodgson’s words about Oxlade-Chamberlain

Depending on which paper you decided to read today, if you just did a scan of the headlines you would see that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is in for a rollicking/dressing down/balling out/insert other tabloid-style ‘shock’ headline by Roy Hodgson after England’s World Cup qualifier against Moldova.

Said the Sun.
The Mirror went with
Rollicking! Hodgson tears strip of Oxlade-Chamberlain for ‘forgetting to play’
The fact is, what Hodgson actually said was
Alex forgot to play in the second half. I thought he was very good in the first half but we made it clear to him that we were going to take him off after 60 minutes.
So that will be an interesting lesson for him…especially when I tell him that.
