In the glory days, Arsenal always had a well-established English core. Most notably the famous back five of David Seaman, Nigel Winterburn, Tony Adams, Martin Keown and Lee Dixon. We always had three or four English internationals during a season of silverware.
When it was founded in 1992, the Premier League was not as accustomed to foreign players as it is now.
