Juventus yesterday posted an offer through the door for our captain. This offer was so derisory, you’d imagine even Robin was quite offended by it. The Italian champions offered a whopping £8million for the hottest striker in Europe.

I’m not sure if that says more about the state of Italian football than it does the audacity of the Turin based club. Either way, we’ve given short shrift to the proposal. It’s a shame, I thought we may have dodged the feeding frenzy around Dutchman, but it appears to have been put off. The sharks were temporarily put off by the Euro Championships, now they’re starving.
