31-year-old Andrey Arshavin spent the second half of last season at Russian club Zenit St. Petersburg after struggling for form and regular first-team appearances with his parent club Arsenal.
Russian international Arshavin scored three goals in nine starts for Zenit, and the club is now ready to initiate talks with Arsenal in order to offer him a contract on a permanent basis.
