Should Arsenal Fight For Russian Star?

Russian club Zenit St. Petersburg are ready to keep Arshavin on a permanent basis if he can prove his mettle to the club, after providing mixed performances this season.

31-year-old Andrey Arshavin spent the second half of last season at Russian club Zenit St. Petersburg after struggling for form and regular first-team appearances with his parent club Arsenal.
Russian international Arshavin scored three goals in nine starts for Zenit, and the club is now ready to initiate talks with Arsenal in order to offer him a contract on a permanent basis. However, they insist that the deal depends on Arshavin’s performances and whether he can show them a good promise of his abilities and capabilities.
