Arsenal goalkeeper Manuel Almunia is heading out of the Emirates Stadium this summer. The Spanish custodian lost his place to the younger and more consistent Polish shot stopper Wojciech Szczesny last season.
Almunia’s stay at Arsenal which spanned over eight years will be over as he joins the list of players who are not going to be offered a new contract by the club. The out of favor goalkeeper will be a free agent once his contract expires on the 30t h of June.
Almunia spent the majority of last season on the bench, which also included a brief month long loan spell to Championship side West Ham, filling in for the injured Robert Green.
