Team News: Gibbs set for Sunderland return

Kieran Gibbs is reportedly set to return to the Gunners first team squad for the first time in four months after undergoing two hernia operations, with the Englishman hoping his dreaded injury curse is behind him.
The 22-year-old English fullback now looks set to be included in the squad for Saturday’s trip to Sunderland which will be a welcome boost for Wenger with the Gunners set to undergo a tough week which involves two trips to the Stadium of Light and one overseas venture to Italy to face AC Milan in midweek.
Gibb’s last match came against Sunderland on October 16, and with Andre Santos suffering a long term injury not long after Gibb’s layoff, Arsenal’s strongest centreback  Thomas Vermaelen was forced to shift across to left-back.
