United Looking To Snatch Arsenal’s Top Target From Under Their Nose

Manchester United are now in the frame for Ajax’s central defender and Arsenal’s top summer target Jan Vertonghen, with United reportedly planning a bid to hijack the Gunners’ move for the Belgian.

Vertonghen, who led Ajax to the Dutch league this season has not extended his contract with the Dutch club which expires at the end of next season so Ajax are prepared for their skipper’s departure in the upcoming Transfer window.
Arsenal have been majorly linked with a move for the 25-year old, as manager Arsene Wenger wishes to reunite Vertonghen with his former team-mate at Ajax and current Belgian defensive partner Thomas Vermaelen. Along with Arsenal, their North London neighbors Tottenham Hotspurs are also credited with an interest in the defensive stalwart.
