According to FC Inter News, Valencia could sign Arsenal-target Geoffrey Kondogbia at the end of the season and sell him on to the Gunners to make a profit.

The 25-year-old joined Valencia on a season-long loan from Inter Milan and has a £22m buying option attached which would be paid over four years. Los Che could bring in the French international on a permanent deal, with the hope that Arsenal’s offer would make them a tidy return.

It’s unknown how much Arsenal would be willing to pay for Kondogbia, however, so there would be a risk attached for Valencia. The midfielder has been a regular in the side this season, making 23 La Liga appearances, scoring and creating eight goals.

He’s been a useful player, so Valencia may well want to keep him unless they make a big profit on his sale. The report cites ‘a small profit’ could be on Valencia’s way given how much Arsenal are willing to spend.

That suggests a figure around £30m which would still be decent business by the Spanish club, but they’d have lost a useful player that will now need replacing.

Arsenal are desperate for a midfielder, with Jack Wilshere out of contract this summer, Aaron Ramsey having less than 18 months remaining on his deal and being no closer to signing an extension and Mohamed Elneny being offered out to clubs last summer.
